Nicole received her initial 1000 hour education in therapeutic massage at the Tennessee Institute for Healing Arts in 1995. In addition to her basic education she studied and received her certification in Neuromuscular Therapy, and after passing the exam received her National Certification in Massage and Bodywork. Since then she has taken several hundred hours of continuing education in two specific areas. One is pain relief, specifically classes dealing with chronic pain and accident related pain. The other field she was continually drawn to was pregnancy massage for which she received an advanced certification in Pregnancy, Labor and Post-Partum Massage in October of 2004. "Over the past ten years I have worked in a variety of settings including a salon, fitness studio, and several chiropractic offices. I have learned that I prefer a somewhat medical setting, which offers clients a very professional environment. My objective is to provide a specific, goal oriented massage that addresses the client’s pain, as well as providing an opportunity for an hour of relaxation and rejuvenation. I strive to treat each person as a whole, not only the pain complaints presented at each session.” "I have worked with pregnant women for 10 years, and it has always been one of the highlights of my job. My Pregnancy, Labor, and Post-Partum massage training allows me to work with women in healthy pregnancies, as well as certain high-risk pregnancies with a doctor’s supervision. I am one of the few therapists in the Northern Colorado area with 150 hours of training in this field." "I feel very strongly
about my participation in professional organizations as a way to stay
connected with other professionals, and be involved with the massage
profession as a whole. Most of the professional organizations require
not only a minimum of education, but also annual continuing education.
These memberships ensure that I am in the know about new modalities
and techniques in my field, thus ensuring that I am providing the best
possible service to my clients."
